Hugs Society, formerly Hugs for Homeless Animals, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization incorporated in the state of Oregon. We are a humane education organization who provides support programs to bridge the public with animal caring organizations.
On May 13, 2016, we changed our name to Hugs Society. Our mission and our dedication to displaced and homeless animals remains as true and strong today as it did over 20 years ago.
As an advocate for all animals, our mission is to provide education and assistance to the general public and to all animal caring organizations to improve the health, maintenance and living standards for those animals within their care and to work to get as many animals adopted into their forever homes as possible.
Since our beginnings in 1996, we have worked diligently to help animals who have found themselves homeless or lost. We have acted as an advocate to their well-being. We have educated and prodded humans to do better to understand and care for the animals whom they have the privilege of guardianship. We provide programs to assist the animal welfare industry to fulfill their goals to provide a healthy and happy environment for the animals in their care and to obtain good homes for them.
